Continuous Long Serving Employees
Qatar Petroleum honored its long service Employees at its Annual Continuous Award Ceremony held at the Doha Sheraton hotel. HE Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Energy and Industry, QP Chairman presented the awards to employees with 20, 25 and 30 years of service, many of who were Qatari nationals. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Manager Human Resources honored employees with 10 to 15 years of service.
Special Energy & Industry Sector Meeting of Qatarization Steering Committee
The Energy & Industry Sector Qatarization Steering Committee held a special meeting to discuss issues of importance to the Qatarization drive. Presentations were given on the new performance management system in Qatargas, Corporate Training’s latest strategies, and the College of the North Atlantic shared how the vocational programs will be delivered once they are handed over from Qatar Petroleum to CNA-Q.
Qatar Petroleum’s Summer Training Program
Qatar Petroleum’s 2005 Summer Training program has successfully attracted over 500 students, in addition to a further number of students receiving training in Qatar petroleum subsidiaries. Summing up the purpose of the program, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Jassim Al-Thani commented:
The summer training program was organized in two intakes and in several locations, and included the following activities
“The rapid development witnessed by all Government Sectors in the State of Qatar along with the awareness by the growing society of the significance of future career planning, and the ability … have encouraged all Qatari students (male/female) to take full advantage of the summer holiday to properly plan for their future career, according to their qualifications and competencies. Qatar Petroleum, as one of the leading industries in the State of Qatar, is devoted to taking an initiative and an active role with its subsidiaries in implementing the Five-Year Strategic Qatarization Plan.”

2. Computer training
3. English language classes
This summer training programs for young Qatari students will continue as one part of its Strategic Qatarization Plan.
Qatar Petroleum Supports Qatar University’s Faculty of Management & Economy with Laptops
A ceremony was held on 15 September 2005 at the Faculty of Management & Economy, Qatar University to inaugurate the “A Laptop for Each Student” program. This program is supported by Qatar Petroleum by contributing QR 480,000 to buy 120 laptops for students.
QP was represented by Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Jassim Al-Thani, Human Resources Manager, who ensured the important role that Qatar University plays in the society and stressed that QP welcomes university graduates, especially from the Faculty of Management & Economy.
Professor Sheikha Al-Mesnid, President of Qatar University expressed the strong relationships between the university and many establishments in Qatar, especially QP.
